2016533: Distribution Center Bulk Operator

Two shifts available ;
Monday through Friday 7:00AM - 3:30PM
Monday through Friday 3:30PM - 12:00AM


The DC Bulk Operator operates heavy equipment to pull and replace items in upper storage racking.  Responsible for stocking, moving, retrieval, cycle counts and overall inventory accuracy in the DC bulk area.  Also communicates with DC Management as needed on equipment maintenance and repair issues. 

Authorized and responsible to continuously improve upon and perform all duties according to BDEL Quality, Safety and Employee Policies and procedures:

  1. Responsible for safe and efficient operation of heavy equipment as outlined by OSHA guidelines and in Black Diamond forklift certification training.
  2. Ensure bulk area inventory accuracy and integrity through cycle counts, process monitoring and appropriate systems entries.
  3. Maintain bulk area storage to optimize storage space.
  4. Put away received finished goods in a timely manner in order to maximize available dock space.
  5. Complete maintenance tasks and equipment inspection daily. Communicate issues to DC management as needed.
  6. Coordinate with DC Management and Supervisors on daily and weekly work flow planning, and meeting or exceeding output and productivity goals as established.
  7. Assist with picking and packing merchandise and Inventory Cycle Counts in accordance with DC procedures, as needed to meet department goals and expectations.
  8. Conduct operations in compliance with applicable regulatory standards and in congruence with the vision and values of Black Diamond.
  9. Maintain a clean, well-organized work environment to enhance safety and increase employee productivity.
Qualifications:

Education

Required:

High School Diploma

 

Preferred:

Formal forklift certification

 

Work Experience

Required:

Six months experience working in a warehouse environment. Some experience operating heavy equipment.

 

Preferred:

One to two years experience operating various types of heavy equipment such as a stock picker, forklift or reach truck in a warehouse environment.


Skills and General Experience:

Demonstrates basic mathematical skills and ability to read and write English.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are necessary.  Some experience operating heavy equipment is a requirement.  Company product knowledge and experience in the outdoor industry is helpful but not required.
